What do you do?
I’m a D.C. Reads tutor.
What do you like most about Georgetown?
I love being in Washington, D.C. The view of the sun setting behind the Washington monument from my window is beautiful, and last weekend I went and tried Ethiopian food at this little restaurant in Adams Morgan. We ate everything with our hands, and it was delicious.
What’s your favorite memory from this year?
My favorite memory was probably of one of the last days before winter break. My floor did a Secret Santa, and we all gathered in the common room to open presents. It was adorable.
What’s your favorite class you’ve taken at Georgetown?
Definitely “Renaissance to Modern Art” with Barrett Tilney. There were mandatory trips to the National Gallery of Art, which were like pseudo-scavenger hunts and were a fun way to explore all the different rooms.
Where are you from? Compare and contrast it to Georgetown. Where are you more comfortable?
I’m from New Orleans, La., where it doesn’t snow after the official start of spring — or ever. The humidity here makes me feel right at home though.
What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
I was babysitting a 5-year-old girl, Amelie, a few summers ago and she was super excited to show me a goldfish that she won at a carnival the week before. She brings me over to the dresser, where the fish is floating belly up near the surface of the water. Amelie asked me what was wrong with the fish, and I had to explain to this sobbing 5-year-old girl what happened to her pet.
What do you do for “me time”?
I like to listen to music and take Sporcle quizzes.
If you could lead a protest on one thing, what would it be?
The new requirement that students have to live on campus for three years.
