Why did you decide to come to Georgetown?
I went to a Catholic high school, and I really liked the continuation of the Jesuit values.
How have Jesuit values influenced your time at Georgetown?
It’s been interesting because I like that there are required classes on theology but they’re not necessarily just for people who believe in any certain thing, so it’s pretty inclusive even if it’s Catholic, so I like that.
What do you do on campus?
I’m in Alpha Phi Omega. That’s my main thing.
Do you feel like you fit in at Georgetown?
Yeah. I think Georgetown is — there’s a certain image of the typical student, but I think there are a lot of different groups on campus that a lot of people can find places to fit in.
How would you compare Georgetown to where you’re from originally? Where do you feel most comfortable?
Where I’m from is pretty rural. Being in the city is pretty different. But I would say the sort of people here are pretty similar to my high school. It’s not too different; it wasn’t a big culture shock coming here.
Which television character do you see the most of yourself in and why?
Leslie Knope. She’s just so driven. She’s just such a positive character, and I feel like that’s something you just don’t see — that many positive women on TV.
What’s one thing you would change about Georgetown?
I think the administration and bureaucracy here can be pretty difficult for student groups, especially new student groups, to work their way out. Different administrative things.
